Christopher: Soccer youngstar suffers from bone cancer - Projects

Regine Sixt fulfils his heart's desire: 'Once to see live the Formula 1!'

Destiny story of a 15-year-old boy from Amberg
Yesterday morning, 7:30 o`clock, Airport Munich: Christopher, in FC Bavaria outfit on his bald head a Porsche cap, smiles. Although the two crutches that hold him disable him very much. No wonder, as the 15-year-old middle field ace at the 1. FC Nuremberg hopes for having a great soccer career once. But it was stopped abruptly at the beginning of this year: after a snowboard accident Christopher was x-rayed - and accidentally they diagnosed bone cancer in his lower leg. A young life at the end already at 15?

Since February the likeable boy with the wide awake eyes makes chemotherapy at Dr. Michaela Nathrath in the Schwabing hospital. „Sometimes they hurt pretty much“, Christopher says before his flight to Paris. Together with his parents the pupil, a big Formula 1 fan as well, flew to Magny Cours where the next Formula 1 race takes place.

Munich`s charity lady Regine Sixt made it possible for him. The benefactor with the big heart is always on the go: „Like every year, I vistited the Schwabing hospital on May 1 to care of the ill children, when Christopher came to me and said: You are Miss Sixt, arent`t you? I have a big wish: Once to see live the Formula 1.“

Typical Regine Sixt: She immediately tackled the issue. She and her assistant Daniela Baetz organised a Paris vist over the weekend for Christopher and his parents Winfried and Birgit. They included Formula 1 tickets for Magny Cours and even tickets for the popular Paddok Club, which actually is for race insiders only. Regine Sixt: „My friends Thierry Antinori (Lufthansa) and Dr. Mario Theissen (Race Director at BMW) spontaneously assured their help.“

Regine Sixt: „Yet alone the message that his wish will be fulfilled made him happier. Since this moment he regains vitality.“ The 15-year-old was able to fly to Paris with his parents without his wheelchair and said: „I´m so happy that Miss Sixt fulfilled my heart`s desire. Too bad that Michael Schumacher doesn`t drive anymore. He`s still my hero.“

Father Winfried: „The chemotherapy is very severe but we won`t give up as long as there`s a chance of him being healed.“

Mother Birgit: „We´re overwhelmed by the all the help. This year Christopher should have made his O-level`s. But all this is unimportant - As long as he gets well again.“ But the chances are small.
